Negotiating in Singapore and Presenting in Dubai!

I’ve been very slack updating my blog this year but I have some very exciting news that will hopefully get me back into business!

I have been chosen as a presenter at the Education Without Borders conference in Dubai/Abu Dhabi later this month! This meansI get a full scholarship to the conference (including flights!) which is a HUGE blessing forme. I’ll be presenting my paper about Social Media use for NGOs and exploring ways this technology can be use more effectively to get the important messages of NGOs out there. You can read my paper here. I’ll also try upload my presentation ppt at a later date.

Before this conference though, I’m heading to the World Model United Nations in Singapore, TODAY! I will be representing

SaintKitts & Nevis (a tiny Carribean country!) on the Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee discussing the topics, 1) the right to development 2) disabled person in the developing world. I hope this week will teach me many new skills – especially negotiating! It’s a wonderful opportunity to model this international body, and an even better opportunity to network with the other 1,999 students from around the world!

Please be praying that this will be a productive time for me – to both learn new skills and experience different cultures. Also pray for my safety as I travel.

I’ll be blogging from both Singapore and Dubai, so keep watching for more tales from my travels! I’ll be away from Sunday 13th March – Saturday 2nd April.

Goodbye Sydney! Hello Singapore!

Here’s a picture of my personal cards I’ve just had made up for the conference – inspiration taken from my blog’s design!
